Growing Intentional Disciplemaking Cultures
Navigators Church Ministries is deeply committed to serving local churches in the venture of spiritual transformation.
To this end, we help churches grow intentional disciplemaking cultures. We do so, in fact, through a process we call GiDC—Growing intentional Disciplemaking Cultures.
How do you move disciplemaking from a ministry of the few to the heart of a church’s culture and into the community? It happens when pastors and ministry leaders commit to modeling, maturing, and multiplying cultures of life-to-life disciplemaking.
Through GiDC, Navigators Church Ministries staff offer a biblical, proven “growth pathway” as we partner with your church or ministry to build such a culture. Our goal is not a one-size-fits-all approach but a process to help you and your team customize a practical strategy for making disciples who make disciples.
Our process emphasizes the following initiatives toward culture building:
Bible studies for personal conviction
Coaching for practical application
Training for skill development
Resources for fruitful ministry
Life-to-life relationships for continued growth
You may be wondering why the small "i" in GiDC. This is designed as an attention-getter, which emphasizes the importance of being intentional
in our efforts to make the Great Commission a reality. Indeed, making disciples doesn't "just happen." In fact, that's why we're experiencing great interest in GiDC among people from various church backgrounds who first hear about it.
Why "culture"? We believe that the emphasis on culture is an important one. Indeed, characteristics of a culture are shared language, values, story or vision, and practices or ways of doing things. Seeing this take place in the entire church is the aim. The way to get there may be to launch the GiDC in a particular ministry at the church—such as in adult ministries, the men's or women's groups, small group ministry, and so forth.
We have more than 130 staff ministering in strategic locations in the United States
with the skills and knowledge to help coach you and your church or ministry toward growing an intentional disciplemaking culture—which includes reaching those without Christ, helping believers grow in spiritual maturity, and developing missional leaders.
It is our prayer and vision that the Lord will use this process to grow disciplemaking cultures in churches across the United States and around the world. As a result, we see countless laborers being developed and released into the harvest fields of the world through this process (Matthew 9:36-38).
After all, when disciples are multiplied, God is glorified!
